Ops and what not.
Okay folks. I'm going to say something so make sure this sticks.
The decision on who is an op and who is not is something that all the current ops decide on. Now keep in mind that the reason we are ops to begin with is because we meet the qualifications in maintaining the peace in the channel. Such qualifications include...
1) Showing you are willing and/or capable of maintaining peace in the channel (which includes enforcing the rules, whether you approve of them or not).
2) Contributing to the channel.
3) Exhibiting the behavior of someone who wants to help solve problems, not add to them.
Logic would dictate that if we (the current ops) find that you don't meet these requirements, you won't be getting a shiny @ next to your nick. And if you're offended by the fact that you don't qualify, don't be stupid and assume it's a plot to demean or attack you in anyway.
Now then...the rules.
The rules are put into place because if there wasn't order, we would be reverting back to the cesspool that so many people were sick of. People change and by proxy, the nature in which things go is also changed. Before the reforming, there was a damn good chance that I could've gotten a nice kick-ban if I so much as said a word to an op at the wrong moment. That's not the kind of place people want to be in. If you're in such a bad mood, would you be on a chatting program?
Oh wait. Misery loves company. It doesn't take a genius to know that.
Hence the addition of actual rules decided upon by the new ops of the equally new #megaband.
If you don't like the rules, you're free to say so. That's your right. People who don't have the authority often detest the ones who do and use it on them, regardless of the fact that it's their job to do so when they get uppity.
Just don't be a fucking douchebag and start questioning the qualifications of an op. Such an action shows that you aren't fit for the position to begin with.
Finally, ways to cope with the rules.
If you don't like them that badly, leave. Throw a hissy fit. Curse me to the ends of the Earth. Whatever.
With that said...

Learn to embrace them, because they aren't going to be changing just because you don't like them.

I was with you all the way up to "fucking", then I sort of skimmed it.
